Former Pitt-Johnstown two-time National Champion and current assistant coach Jody Strittmatter has been selected for induction into the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association (PWCA) Hall of Fame.  Twelve former wrestlers, coaches and/or contributors will be inducted on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Ramada Inn in State College, Pa.

The Class of 2010 includes:  Jeff Catrabone (Wrestler-District 10); Bill Cramp (Contributor-District 7); Stan DuBelle (Coach-District 7); Bob Funk (Wrestler-District 3); Vertus Jones (Wrestler-District 7); Richard Stauffer (Wrestler-District 2); Jody Strittmatter (Wrestler-District 6); Rande Stottlemyer (Wrestler/Coach-District 10), Rich Stuyvesant (Wrestler-District 10), Sylvester Terkay (Wrestler - District 7), John Toggas (Coach-District 11) and Bill Welker (Wrestler-District 4).

Strittmatter, a native of Ebensburg, Pa., was a two-time PIAA State place winner at Camrbia Heights High School.  After placing third at 103 lbs. in 1995, Strittmatter moved up to 112 lbs. and won the PIAA State Championship the following year.

Strittmatter joined Head Coach Pat Pecora's Pitt-Johnstown team and won back-to-back NCAA Division II National Championships as a freshman and sophomore.  

In 1998, Strittmatter won the title at 118 lbs.  A year later, Strittmatter claimed the championship at 125 lbs. on his way to leading the Mountain Cats to the Division II National team title and garnering Outstanding Wrestler honors at the National Tournament. 

He finished his two-year Pitt-Johnstown career with an 87-3 overall record.  Strittmatter's .967 winning percentage ranks second in the history of Mountain Cat wrestling behind six-time National Champions Carlton Haselrig's .979 winning percentage.

After transferring to NCAA Division I national powerhouse University of Iowa prior to the 1999-2000 season, Strittmatter wrapped up his collegiate wrestling career with a third-place national finish in 2001 and a National Runner-up finish as a senior in 2001.

Strittmatter, a two-time National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Academic All-Wrestling Team choice as a Mountain Cat, returned to Pitt-Johnstown and joined Coach Pecora's staff as an assistant coach in 2004-05.  Strittmatter is still an assistant on the Pitt-Johnstown staff today.

A buffet luncheon will precede the formal ceremonies with brief acceptance and recognition speeches by the inductees.  The 2010 Hall of Fame members will be recognized by having their names listed in the program at the PIAA State Championships as well as having their names read over the PA system prior to the state final matches.
