West West Lawn, PA (Friday, May 4, 2001) - 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Brandon Slay (Freestyle Wrestling, 76 kg.) has signed a multi-year worldwide endorsement and services contract with Pennsylvania-based The Brute Group (www.totallywrestling.com), a manufacturer and exclusive distributor of wrestling shoes under all the adidas  brand namewrestling products.    The Pennsylvania-based company as well also manufactures apparel and accessories accessories under both the Brute and adidas names. Exact terms of the deal have not been disclosed.    Slay, originally from Amarillo, Texas, graduated fromis a  1998 graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1998. As a member of the university's wrestling team, Slay achieved NCAA finalist status twice.  was a two-time NCAA finalist as a member of the Penn wrestling team.     In 2000, after years of intensive training, Brandon Slay experienced his most victorious year to date and one of the most incredible years ever experienced by a freestyle wrestler. He began the year by winningwon the United States National Championship at 167.5 lbs., where he and was named outstanding wrestler, .then went on to continue his streak by winning a spot on the Olympic Team  in front of a record home-state crowd in his home state. Finally, to the astonishment of everyone but his fans and friends, Slay crushed the defending World and Olympic champion Russian Bouvaisa Saitiev and went on to capture the Gold Medal at the Summer Games in Sydney, Australia. For his incredible 12-month performance, Slay was recently named outstanding freestyle wrestler of the year by USA Wrestling.
