Four past American champions reach freestyle semifinals at the Dave Schultz Memorial International

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Four past American champions have advanced to the freestyle semifinals of the Dave Schultz Memorial International.
Danny Felix, Mike Zadick, Trent Paulson and Bryce Hasseman each landed spots in the semifinals on Friday morning at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
The semifinals are set for 4 p.m. with the finals scheduled for approximately 5:30. The semis and finals will be broadcast live on TheMat.com.
Zadick's win sets up an interesting semifinal at 60 kg/132 lbs. Zadick will face Nate Gallick, who lost to Zadick in a Special Wrestle-Off for the 2007 U.S. World Team. Zadick is a past World silver medalist and Gallick a past World University champion.
Felix, a 2009 World Team member, advances to face past Schultz champion Hyo-Sub Kim in the semifinals at 55 kg/121 lbs.
Paulson, a 2009 World Team member, will meet Byung-Kwan Cho of Korea in the semifinals at 74 kg/163 lbs.
Hasseman, a past National Team member, will battle American Brandon Halsey in the semis at 96 kg/211.5 lbs.
American Corey Jantzen, who is taking a year off from school at Harvard, scored one of the biggest wins of the first session. He knocked off Russia's Gamid Dzhalilov in three periods in the quarterfinals at 66 kg/145.5 lbs.
American Ben Askren rallied to beat Canada's Matt Gentry in a battle of Olympians in the quarterfinals at 74 kg/163 lbs. Askren dropped the first period before dominating the final two periods. Askren will meet Rashid Kurbanov of Russia in the semifinal round.
The three-day tournament concludes with the women's freestyle competition on Saturday.
