1965 NCAA champion Jack Brisco passes away

STILLWATER, Okla. - Jack Brisco, a 1965 NCAA wrestling champion from Oklahoma State, passed away Monday at age 68 from heart complications.
A native of Blackwell, Okla., Brisco was the Big Eight champion at 191 pounds in both 1964 and 1965 and was a two-time NCAA finalist, winning the national title in 1965 just one year after finishing as the runner-up. During his time with the Cowboys, Brisco won 95 percent of his bouts, stringing together a 27-1-1 career slate. He was a standout on the Cowboys' 1964 NCAA champion team.
After college, Brisco went on to star in the professional wrestling ranks, including a two-year run in what is now known as World Wrestling Entertainment. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008.
Brisco is survived by his wife Jan and his son and two daughters, in addition to his brothers Jerry, Gene and Bill and his sisters Sharon Spencer and Shirley Murch.
Funeral services have not been finalized.
