USA Wrestling's Middle & Elementary School Folkstyle National Championships will be held February 26-27 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. in association with Florida Amateur Wrestling Association (FAWA). 

"We loved this event and will be coming back this year full force." expresses J.D. Robbins, coach and club leader for the Florida Jets wrestling club. "This event has now become mandatory for all the wrestlers in the Florida Jets wrestling club, even the beginners; because of the great and rewarding experience the kids receive."

The event will be hosted at Jostens Center at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex this year. This is the second year of this growing event. 

"As a sports fan, there is no better place to be," explains Robbins. "The ESPN Wide World of Sports complex creates for a luxurious atmosphere and prime location. Everything from exceptional restaurants to the Quarterback Football Challenge is in the near vicinity."

There should be an expected 600+ participants for this year's event, coming from all across the nation. 14 states are represented at this event so far. 

Florida is among the 14 states.

"This is a chance to wrestle at a National event without having to travel much of a distance for the Florida citizens." stated Robbins. "The event brings together a child's passion and a family vacation that creates a warm, fuzzy feeling among families."

Middle school athletes must be in 6th through 8th grade and born between the years 1995-1998. Ninth graders who were born in 1995 will not be allowed to participate. There is no age requirement for the elementary division; they must be enrolled in 3rd through 5th grade. 

Middle & Elementary School Folkstyle National Championships will be held in conjunction with the Walt Disney's World's® "ESPN the Weekend," a premier youth athletic gathering.  "ESPN the Weekend" includes: soccer, flag football, La Crosse, Mike and Mike, Harlem Globetrotters and much more.
