TheMat.com to air Freestyle World Cup Wrestle-offs on tape delay, January 22

TheMat.com will post a tape-delayed broadcast of the 2009 U.S. Freestyle World Cup Wrestle-offs on Friday, January 22.

The will be held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. starting at 10:30 a.m.

This competition will determine five of the positions on the 2010 U.S. Freestyle World Cup Team. The winners in each weight class will earn a spot on the U.S. team which will compete in the Freestyle World Cup in Mahachkala, Russia, March 6-7. 

USA Wrestling's Jason Bryant will announce the broadcast.

Competition will be at 55 kg, 60 kg, 66 kg, 74 kg and 96 kg.

The two 2009 World medalists for the United States have already secured a spot on the World Cup team: Jake Herbert (Evanston, Ill./New York AC) at 84 kg/185 lbs. and Tervel Dlagnev (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs.

2009 World Team members Shawn Bunch (Columbus, Ohio/Gator WC) at 60 kg/132 lbs. and Trent Paulson (Ames, Iowa/Sunkist Kids) at 74 kg/163 lbs. will compete, along with 2008 Olympian Andy Hrovat (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs.
