GREELEY, Colo. - The Minnesota Golden Gophers didn't mess around.

The fifth-ranked Gophers won 9 of 10 matches in a span of just over an hour in a business-like 41-3 wrestling win over Northern Colorado on Sunday afternoon at the Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion

The Gophers, coming off an impressive home win over No. 12 Nebraska, scored bonus points in 6 of their 9 victories.

"Our guys came out and wrestled hard," Minnesota coach J Robinson said. "It was good for us to come to Colorado. I remember when they had eight Division I teams here. We want to come back here and we want fans to come here to support wrestling. Northern Colorado came out and fought hard today. It was a good day of wrestling."

Brothers Cody and Sonny Yohn, from Alamosa, Colo., earned back-to-back victories for the Gophers at 174 and 184 pounds. Cody won by decision and Sonny won by technical fall for Minnesota.

"It was good to see our Colorado kids come out here and have success," Robinson said. "It's always good to bring the hometown kids back home for a meet like this. I'm sure it was fun for them to wrestle back in their home state."

Past NCAA champion and 2009 World Team freestyle member Dustin Schlatter rolled to a 16-3 major decision over Tanner Weiks at 165 pounds.

Three-time All-American Jayson Ness of Minnesota continued his pinning spree with a quick 66-second pin over Gavin Garza at 133 pounds. The second-ranked Ness improved to 11-0. He's pinned 10 of 11 opponents this season.

All-American Zach Sanders of Minnesota was dominant on his feet, building a quick early lead en route to a 10-6 win over NCAA qualifier Tony Mustari at 125. Mustari turned Sanders for a two-point near fall to close within 9-6 midway through the third period, but could draw no closer.

Minnesota heavyweight Ben Berhow capped the victory with a third-period pin in the day's final match.

Northern Colorado's lone win came when Justin Gaethje earned an 8-6 win over Joe Grygelko at 157.

Minnesota improved to 3-1. Northern Colorado is 0-6 this season.
