Sixteen of the best women's freestyle wrestlers in the United States are headed to Beijing, China for a 10-day training camp with the National Team from China.

World bronze medalist Tatiana Padilla and Olympian Ali Bernard lead a group of U.S. women scheduled to travel to Beijing, site of the 2008 Olympic Games.

Past World Team members Jessica Medina, Leigh Jaynes, Deanna Rix, Elena Pirozhkova, Adeline Gray and Jenna Pavlik also are making the trip. Rix and Gray each placed fifth at the 2009 World Championships in Herning, Denmark.

The wrestlers will train at China's National Training Center in Beijing.

"It's a great opportunity for our National Team members to train with China's National Team members," U.S. National Coach Terry Steiner said. "We have a very young group of wrestlers and we want to expose them to different styles of wrestling and different styles of training. That will help our overall growth and development. China's style of wrestling is different than any style of wrestling we see, so this gives us an opportunity to learn in a training environment."

Steiner said China will then reciprocate by sending a team of women's wrestlers to the Dave Schultz Memorial International in February at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

The U.S. team is scheduled to leave Dec. 7 and return home Dec. 18.
