Iowa's Jody Strittmatter after his victory over Minnesota's LeRoy Vega: ' He slowed the tempo down and tried to keep it close in his favor. Tomorrow I need to pick up the pace and keep the pressure on in the finals against Abas. I definitely have trained hard for this.' Oklahoma State's Johnny Thompson after his thrilling victory over Nebraska's Todd Beckerman: 'He (Beckerman) is a real good defensive wrestler. It was desperation and I had to hope for the best. At the beginning of the year, even as a non-starter, I knew I could be in the finals'. Ohio State's Robert Sessley after defeating Oklahoma State's Charles Walker for his second All-American trophy: 'I looked inside myself at what I had to do. It's always tough to do something twice and now I am a two-time All-American. Perseverence kept me here for my fourth win in a row'. Oklahoma's Michael Lightner on his final's match up with Iowa's Doug Schwab: 'We go back to high school so it is a great rivalry. When ever it really counted, he has won. I respect Doug a lot as a wrestler. People know I like to score pointsand it has the makings to be a shootout. I am coming out to score points and to win a title.' Iowa's T.J. Williams on making it to the finals: 'I went in with the attitude that I have to be the agressor. Joe tells me to be patient, and I chose my spot in the match to score. Last years match I lost in the NCAA's sticks in my mind. Tomorrow, I'll just compete and compete hard'. Wisconsin's Donny Pritzlaff on qualifying for his second consecutive finals: 'That was our 3rd tough match of the year. I love a good fight. It means everything to me to leave my sport on top. I definitely look forward to wrestling Heskett tomorrow'. Ohio State's Tommy Rowlands on his semi-final match with UNI's Paul Hynek: 'Hynek wrestles, and I respect him for that. I don't want to letdown now. Lockhart is real tough to score on, but I am real happy to get another shot at him. I plan on taking of advantage of tomorrow to achieve my dream. Minnesota Head Coach J Robinson on his team's semi-final performance. 'We didn't have a great today obviously. We have to make our breaks and wrestle past our seeds tomorrow afternoon. That is where the title will be won. Today we definitely got some marginal calls, fair is fair supposedly. We just didn't get the calls in Carver Arena. Ask anybody, this is not a neutral site and it's not fair to the other teams'.
