125:  #4 GARDNER vs. #5 FALCK:  In a classic blue collar Iowa win, returning NCAA 8th Charlie Falck arduously fought back to nip two-time All-American and #4 seed Tanner Gardner. Falck got the Iowa crowd into it when the Hawkeye scored a TD with a minute to go and rode out to win on riding time. The Cardinal brought the rest of the congregation to the edge of their seats by very nearly reversing at the final buzzer.

125- #1 ESCOBEDO vs. #8 PRECIN:  In a hairy first tie-breaker moment, Precin kicked free for a escape then pounced for an apparent winning takedown, with everyone including Wildcat coaches up in arms. But since Escobedo was accidentally kicked in the face during the escape, the officials called an injury time-out until the Hoosier regained his senses. 

125- Defending NCAA champion, Paul DONAHOE, and Gabe Flores each had a reversal in the Huskers' 4-2 advancement. 

125- NESS vs. NICHOLSON - Jayson lead 9-1 at the time of the fall. 

133:  KENNEDY vs. GREY - the Illini scored a slick shrug to a slide-by and climbed over the back of Grey for an 8-7 lead with a minute to go. Grey escaped with 0:41 left and the Illini immediately shot for another of their myriad scrambles and exchanges. In sudden victory, Kennedy shot again, with the rangy CU freshman countering but finally yielding at 0:33. In regulation, Grey had two first period TDs and lead 5-3 after the first period; Kennedy had TDs in the 2nd, 3rd and sudden victory periods. 

133: SLATON vs. FANTHORPE - 2-1tb; it wasn't pretty except to Iowa fans, but their won their second straight squeeker 

133: GOMEZ vs. REITER - the Spartan had two TDs in the 2nd period plus riding time; all the scoring, in fact, came in period two (even the riding time), since they were neutral in periods one and three. 

133: SCOTT vs. BAKER - Scott had three TDs to Baker's one

141:  #4 MORGAN vs. #5 RIVERA:  8-1; the Cowboy rode herd with a takedown in each period.

141:  #2 GRIFFIN vs. unseeded KYLER:  5-2; Early TD by Army was offset by an escape, TD and 2-pt near fall all in the third period, the back points during a desperation escape attempt at the end

141:  #1 MENDES vs. #9 GALLICK: 5-0;  escape, 2-pt near fall, tech violation (illegal hold) and riding time

141:  #6 JAGGARS vs. #3 RUSSELL:  5-3, with TDs in 1st and 3rd periods by Jaggars


149:  #7 CALDWELL wins vs. #2 SCHLATTER: 4-1.  First pd: Caldwell TD, escape and riding time.

149:  #4 BURROUGHS wins vs. #5 CHURELLA:  3-2.  First pd TD by Burroughs

149: #1 METCALF 3-2 over #9 PALMER.  On a third period TD with about a minute left; OSU escaped and nearly took down the Hawkeye with about 0:30 left. 

149: #6 JENKINS 5-3 over #3 O'CONNOR:  Jenkins had TDs in the 1st and 2nd periods

157:   #3 VALLIMONT, PSU 7-5 vs. SHERFEY, Boise St.  Two PSU first pd takedowns, nothing but escapes after that, plus riding time

157:  #2 POETA, Illinois 7-3 over  CHANDLER, Missouri.  Two takedowns to none, while they exchanged first period reversals.

157:  #12 ZUPANCIC 9-8 over  unseeded BONILLA-BOWMAN.  3-1 edge in SU TDs.  First pd:  3-3 after the first (1 TD each);  2nd period:  Stanford TD;  2 escapes for Hofstra and one pt stalling vs. Stanford.  3rd period:  Zupancic had escape and TD and yielded another stall point to JBB; the difference maker was 1:27 riding time edge to Zupancic.

157:  #8 LEEN, Cornell 8-6 over defending 149 lb NCAA champ, GILLESPIE, Edinboro. First pd:  Leen had a pair of TDs and rode out for 4-1 lead;  2nd period: they traded TDs and Gregor had two escapes to narrow margin to 6-5.  3rd period:  Leen escape; was penalized for stalling with 1:59 riding time

165:  #2 PERRY, Iowa WBF 0:37  #10 CANNON, American U.  After a quick scramble, Perry used his unique scrambling ability to lock a cradle for the TD and fall.

165:  #3 MARBLE, Missouri 5-3  over #6 READER, Iowa St.  TDs in 1st & 3rd periods

165:  #1 TANNENBAUM, Michigan  7-4 over FAY, Northern Iowa.  TD in each period for Marable plus 3:10 riding time

165: #4 LEWNES, Cornell  6-5,tb DWYER, Nebraska   In the first tie-breaker period, Cornell sprung for a reversal and rode out; in the final tie-breaker period, Dwyer nearly reversed but earned just an escape as time expired. In regulation, they entered the third period with Dwyer leading, 1-0. Lewnes reversed, Dwyer escaped, Dwyer TD, Lewnes reversed for the 4-4 score in regulation.

174:  #1 Keith GAVIN, Pittsburgh 7-4 over unseeded Nathan Lee, Oregon.  TD in first period and two in the third for the defending NCAA runner-up.

174:  #2 Steve LUKE, Michigan, 6-2 over #7 Matt STOLPINSKI, Navy. Two first period TDs by Luke sealed the deal.

174:  #3 Brandon BROWNE, Nebraska, 3-2 over #11 Steve ANCERAVAGE, Cornell.  First period takedown for Browne

174:  #4 Jay BORSCHEL, Iowa, 8-2, over #5 Brandon SINNOTT, Central Michigan. Borschel had a pair of TDs, two escapes, riding time and a penalty point, vs. one late TD for Sinnott

184:  #6 Raymond JORDAN, Missouri,  3-1 over unseeded Vince JONES, Nebraska.  Takedown and ride-out in the final minute by the Tiger

184:  #1 Jake VARNER, Iowa St, 2-0, over #8 Roger KISH, Minnesota.  Escape in 2nd period and ride-out

184:   #2 Mike PUCILLO, Ohio St, 4-3, over #7 Phil KEDDY, Iowa.  Takedown in the final five seconds at the edge. They went out-of-bounds before Pucillo rode out Keddy had scored first (1st period TD).

184: #4 Christian SINNOTT, Central Michigan, 3-2, over unseeded Doug UMBEHAUER, Rider.  First period takedown

197:  #1 Josh GLENN, American U, 10-5 over  #8 Craig BRESTER, Nebraska.  Three 2-point near falls in the 2nd period plus a takedown in the third (riding time, 1:11)

197:  #2 Philip DAVIS, Penn St, 7-3, over #7 Hudson TAYLOR, Maryland. Davis 1st period TD;  2-point near fall in the second pd and a third period reversal (3:16 rid. Time)

197:  #4 Wynn MICHALAK, Central Michigan, 5-4, over #5 Max ASKREN, Missouri; Askren had a 3-0 lead (TD, escape) into the second period before the Chippewa scored a TD and 2-pt near fall to lead, 4-3, entering the final period. He escaped and fended off Askren's late attempts, with riding time to the Tiger.

197:  #6 Dallas HERBST, Wisconsin, 5-4, over unseeded David BERTOLINO, Iowa State.  Each had a TD in the first period; in the third period, Herbst reversed and rode out, plus riding time (2:09)

285:  #1 Dustin FOX, Northwestern, 2-1, over #8 Bubba GRITTER, Central Michigan, on riding time of 1:19

285:  #2 J.D. BERGMAN, Ohio State, 11-1 major decision over #7 David ZABRISKIE, Iowa State.  Three takedowns, a 3-point near fall plus 2:40 riding time.

285:  #3 Ed PRENDERGAST, Navy, 9-3, over #6 Kyle MASSEY, Wisconsin. A pair of takedowns and a 3-point near fall. 

285:  #5 Jared ROSHOLT, Oklahoma St, 2-0, over #4 Matt FIELDS, Iowa. OSU escaped in second period and rode out the third (riding time of 1:39)
