KLIPPAN, SWEDEN - Victoria Anthony won the 46 kg weight class and was named best wrestler at the Klippan Ladies Open March 7-8, in Sweden.

Carlene Slubersky and Adeline Gray also won individual titles, at 43 kg and 65 kg respectively, and the U.S. placed fourth overall among teams in the Cadet division.

The three individual champions for the U.S. were the most for any country. All three champions recorded pins on their way to earning individual titles.

"The Cadets competed outstanding and not just because of their results," said USA Wrestling Women's Developmental Coach Izzy Izboinikov. "They were talk of the tournament. No one had seen our cadets compete internationally before."

Two other U.S. wrestlers, Samantha Lopez at 52 kg and Logan Howard at 56 kg, competed with the Cadet team, which is also had a dual against Sweden prior to the tournament.

"This group competed very well," said Izboinikov. "For most of them it was first time at an international tournament. After not so good dual results, pep talks and practice time got the cadets ready for the tournament."

The Klippan Lady Open featured 18 countries and 130 wrestlers.
