STILLWATER, Okla. - The 2008 Big 12 Wrestling Championship is set for Saturday in Gallagher-Iba Arena. Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions:
Q: Where can I purchase tickets on Saturday and how much will they cost?
A: Tickets can be purchased at any of the Gallagher-Iba Arena ticket windows on Saturday. The ticket windows open at 9:30 a.m. Each all-session pass will cost $20 for reserved seating or $15 for general admission.
Q: Tickets will be left in my name at will call. Where should I pick them up?
A: The "will call/player guest" entrance is located at the Northeast side of Gallagher-Iba Arena. Please contact our Athletic Ticket Office (405) 744-3332 for additional information.
Q: I have a child under two years old. Will my child need a ticket?
A: Yes. All fans, regardless of age or size need a ticket for admission.
Q: I am an Oklahoma State University student with an All-Sports Pass. Can I use my pass for admission Saturday?
A: No. Saturday's event is a Big 12-sponsored event, as opposed to an OSU-sponsored event, so OSU All-Sports Passes will not be valid for admission. OSU students will have to purchase tickets at the ticket windows.
Q: Where should I park?
A: Parking is free in the lots surrounding Boone Pickens Stadium. The only lots that is reserved is the Gallagher-Iba Arena Northeast lot just off Hall of Fame Avenue and the loading dock area on the south side of the arena. The best lots to park in would be the lots on the South side of Boone Pickens Stadium and the gravel lots on the North side of the stadium.
Q: What about handicapped parking?
A: A limited number of handicapped parking spots are available in the Gallagher-Iba Arena Northeast lot off Hall of Fame Avenue and in the lot just south of Boone Pickens Stadium off Knoblock Street. In addition, a limited number of handicapped spots are available on Knoblock Street itself (not in a lot).
Q: Are there any arena policies I should know about?
A: The following items are prohibited in the arena: alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, firearms, car seats, video cameras, artificial noise makers, baby strollers, food, beverages, flags or signs.
:: All persons are subject to search.
:: All bags, backpacks, fanny packs, and purses must be smaller than 8x11 and are subject to search.
:: No pets or animals of any kinds are allowed in the stadium with the exception of service animals for impaired or disabled guests.
:: Spirit banners, flags, or signs considered to be improper will be removed and confiscated by game management. The use of poles to display these items is prohibited.
:: Smoking is only permitted outside in designated areas.
:: No soliciting allowed in the arena.
:: All persons must have a ticket for admission into the Athletics Center.
Q: What about cameras? Can I bring one in?
A: Point-and-shoot cameras are permitted for personal use. Any commercial photography is prohibited. Removable lens are permitted as long as they do not exceed 3 inches. Flash photography and video cameras are prohibited. Tripods or camera stands of any kind are prohibited.
Q: When do the arena doors open to the public and what is the schedule for the day?
10 a.m. - Doors open to the public
11 a.m. - First round matches: maximum of 10 matches on two mats
Noon - Semifinal matches: 20 matches on two mats
Arena is cleared after semifinals
3 p.m. - Arena is re-opened for evening session
4 p.m. - Consolation matches: 10 matches on two mats, followed immediately by third-place matches: 10 matches on two mats and eligible challenge matches on one mat
7 p.m. - Championship matches: 10 matches on one mat
Q: I can't make it to Gallagher-Iba Saturday. How can I follow the action?
A: There are multiple ways to follow the Big 12 Wrestling Championship live. Live video from all matches will be available on www.big12sports.com.
:: Preliminary action will be streamed with dual cameras so fans can view competition from both mats simultaneously. Finals will be provided courtesy of FSN, who will also be showing the event in its entirety on a tape delay basis the following week. Typically, live video from wrestling events at Gallagher-Iba Arena is streamed on www.okstate.com, but due to the fact that this is a Big 12 Championship event, the only source for live video is www.big12sports.com.
:: Fans in the Stillwater area can listen to Roger Moore's live broadcast on 93.7 KSPI FM Radio.
:: Fans outside of the listening area can access the same broadcast worldwide via the internet at www.okstate.com.
:: Live results with full play-by-plays from each bout in the championship round will be available in real time at www.okstate.com.
Q: What about the FSN broadcast? When can I watch that?
A: The finals will be televised on a tape-delay basis by FSN. Fans throughout Oklahoma and Texas can view the event on FSN Southwest at 1 p.m. central time on Friday, March 14 and at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 15. Following is a complete rundown on when the 2008 Big 12 Wrestling Championship can be viewed on the various FSN affiliates:
