STILLWATER, Okla. -- The National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum is presenting a "Test Your Collegiate Wrestling Trivia Challenge" in conjunction with the 2008 NCAA Division I Championships slated for Mar. 20-22 in St. Louis, Missouri.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the first black NCAA Wrestling Champion, this year's Trivia Challenge will focus on the contributions made by African Americans to the sport.  Winners of the Trivia Challenge will be announced during the Hall of Fame's Champions Reunion at the Hard Rock Café Tent at Union Station on Thursday, March 20, at 3:30 p.m. following the first session of competition.

The person who correctly answers the most questions will win two tickets to the Champions Reunion, a complimentary copy of the NCAA Div. I Wrestling Championship official program, a new booklet on The African American Wrestling Experience, and the book, The History of Collegiate Wrestling signed by author Jay Hammond and several Hall of Fame legends who will attend the Reunion. Winners need not be present to win and will be posted on the Hall of Fame's website March 25.   

"Given the 50th anniversary of the first African American NCAA Wrestling Champion, wrestling historian Jay Hammond has put together another intriguing trivia questionnaire that will test anyone's knowledge on the history of African Americans in NCAA and Olympic competition," said Lee Roy Smith, Executive Director of the Hall of Fame. 

For participating contestants to be eligible for prizes, the Wrestling Trivia questionnaire must be received before 5 p.m. CST on March 14 by post, fax, online or email to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, 405 West Hall of Fame Avenue, Stillwater, OK 74075; Fax: 405-377-5244; email: info@wrestlinghalloffame.org. In the event of a tie, the first entry with the most correct answers will be the winner.
