This past weekend Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts and NCAA Division I Champions partnered up to form a winning combination that dominated the Clinch Gear Western Grappling Duals, in San Diego, CA on February 9, 2008.  

The Cobra Kai/Team Takedown super-team took the Clinch Gear Western Grappling Duals title after defeating the San Diego based Undisputed squad by a score of 24-0.

The Cobra Kai/ Team Takedown roster consisted of: 
-	Simpson Go, BJJ black belt and USA Wrestling's Grappling World Team Trials finalist
-	Chris Holdsworth, USA Wrestling's Grappling World Team Trials qualifier
-	Shane Roller, 4x NCAA All-American
-	Johny Hendricks, 2x NCAA Champion
-	Jake Rosholt, 3x NCAA Champion
-	Marc Laimon, BJJ black belt and Grappling guru
-	James Horne, Heavyweight

The Undisputed team reached the finals by dominating Pool A with wins over the Camp Pendleton based team, representing the U.S. Marine Corps and Team One8Nine, out of San Diego, Calif.  New Breed Jiu-Jitsu took 3rd place by defeating the USMC-Camp Pendleton team by an impressive 30-0 margin. Wrapping up 5th place honors was Team Kadillac which defeated Team One8Nine by a final score of 21-6. Team Kadillac was led by "King of the Cage" Heavyweight Champion Lloyd "Kadillac" Marshbanks. 

One of the most exciting moments of the event happened when Marc Laimon came out of retirement to face the giant heavyweight from Undisputed, Ray "Kong" Seralle.  Laimon won a hard fought major decision by outscoring Seralle 15-3 in the event's final match of the day. The most impressive overall tournament performance went to Roller for garnering three submission victories to lead his team to the Championship.
