COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Everybody knows Harry Lester is one of the best Greco-Roman wrestlers on the planet at 66 kg/145.5 lbs.

He's not too shabby at 74 kg/163 lbs. either.

The ultra-talented Lester showed just explosive he is, even wrestling up a weight class, when he pinned Pan American Games champion Odelis Herrero of Cuba on Friday morning at the Dave Schultz Memorial International.

Lester, also a Pan American Games champion at 66 kilos, used a front headlock to lift and turn Herrero en route to winning the first period of their quarterfinal matchup 4-0. Lester followed with a sweet duck under into a body lock as he planted Herrero to the mat for the quick second-period fall. The fall came just 25 seconds into the period.

Lester, a two-time World bronze-medalist, remains on course to face fellow World Team member T.C. Dantzler in Friday night's finals at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Lester will face Andy Bisek in the semifinals while Dantzler will meet Kazakhstan's Adilov Asset in the semis.

Dantzler is a five-time World Team member at 74 kilos. Lester has made the last three U.S. World Teams at 66 kilos.

Bisek knocked off 2007 World champion Yavor Yanakiev of Bulgaria 0-2, 4-3, 5-0 in the second round. Yanakiev also lost to Dantzler in Tuesday's Chicago Cup.

Two-time Olympic champion and three-time World champion Armen Nazarian of Bulgaria fell to 2007 Dave Schultz champion Nurbakyt Tengizbayev of Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals. Tengizbayev knocked off 2006 World champion Joe Warren of the U.S. in the 2007 Schultz finals.

One of the best quarterfinal matchups came at 55 kg/121 where 2006 World University champion Spenser Mango met past World fifth-place finisher Venelin Venkov of Bulgaria. Venkov pulled out a 6-0, 2-2 win.

Two-time Olympian Jim Gruenwald dropped his first-round match to Poland's Edward Barsegjan 3-2, 3-1 at 60 kg/132 lbs. Gruenwald, a 2000 and 2004 Olympian, is making a comeback this season. He is an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic Education Center at Northern Michigan University. He finished 0-2 on Friday.
