Position Title: National Events Coordinator
Division/Department: USA Wrestling/National Events
Position: Full-time
Job Responsibility: USA Wrestling (USAW) is seeking a qualified individual to assist in the area of National Events to develop, promote, implement and coordinate USA Wrestling¡¦s national events program at regional, national and international levels. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
„X Responsible for obtaining pre-event budgets, contracts, post event financial reports and event summaries.
„X Supervise the production and distribution of event flyers and other event specific documents.
„X Develop pre-event planning, promotion, management and follow-up plans for all USAW events.
„X Coordinate all aspects of national folkstyle programming.
„X Assist in development of promotional/advertising plans and advertising design for print and internet mediums.
„X Coordinate travel and lodging needs for all assigned event staff.
„X Coordinate lodging and transportation for USAW staff at Senior Nationals, World Team Trials, University Nationals and other large events.
„X Coordinate the distribution of all event related materials, awards and supplies needed for all events.
„X Coordinate the distribution of all sponsor related fulfillment items.
„X Assist with public relations needs, television broadcast needs, internet transmission needs, sponsorship acquisition and fulfillment needs prior to and during events.
„X Assist with the preparation and distribution of bid specifications for future USAW events.
„X Serve as the event coordinator for selected USAW events, and closely monitor proceedings, contract compliance, implement policies and serve as a USAW¡¦s official representative.
„X Responsible for loading and unloading USAW events trailer at large USAW Events.
„X Assist with driving 20 foot trailer to and from events.
„X Assist in driving 15 passenger vans for various USAW International Events.
„X Responsible for printing weigh-in cards prior to traveling to USAW Events.
„X Responsible for training pairers to use Trackwrestling software.
„X Responsible for networking computers, printers and servers in order to use Trackwrestling software at USAW Events.
„X Responsible for invoicing local organizing committees (LOCs), and preparing detailed event coordinator packets for all USAW events.
„X Responsible for management of Trackwrestling email database.
„X Responsible for blast email promotion of prospective event participants.
„X Must be willing to embrace and enhance new technological advancements.
„X Assist state associations with development and coordination of current and future events programming.
„X Motivate diverse groups of volunteers at all levels, possess diplomatic and negotiation skills, and share a vision for the development and growth of wrestling.
„X Perform such duties as may be assigned by the Director of National Events.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Three to five years experience in event/conference management. A bachelor's degree in sports management, marketing, or related field is required. Masters degree in sports administration preferred. USOC national governing body experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Proficient skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and data base construction are required. Ability to network computers and troubleshoot is required. Ability to drive 20 foot trailer for an extended period of time is required. Ability to lift 100 lbs is required. Ability to travel for extended days is required. Graphic design and desktop publishing skills preferred.
