Wrestlers needed for spring international tours to Athens and Paris

World Sports Alliance, the Official International Exchange Coordinator of USA Wrestling, has announced the first two USA Wrestling Developmental Tours of 2008.  

For the first time, two Spring tours will be offered so as to allow more athletes to participate. The first tour heads to Athens, Greece the week before Easter, March 15-22. The second tour will travel to Paris, France March 24-31. 

Both tours are freestyle wrestling tours, for athletes under the age of 20. Wrestlers will participate in a series of team competitions and joint training sessions. When not on the mats, wrestlers will spend time sightseeing. 

Highlights of the Athens tour includes the Acropolis with its awesome Parthenon, the popular Plaka area, the Ancient Olympic Stadium, the ancient ruins of Corinth as well as a day cruise to nearby Greek Islands.  

The group traveling to Paris will visit the cities most important sites including the Eiffel Tower, the Arch de Triomph, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum (home of the Mona Lisa), a cruise of down the River Seine and a day trip to Versailles. 

Interested athletes must be between 14-20 years of age with a minimum of 4 years wrestling experience as well as 1 year of freestyle wrestling. Qualified athletes must call to check availability in their weight category.  

The tour cost is $2,495 for both tours. Various payment options are available. There is a limited amount of space available for friends and family.
