Perry, ranked second nationally at 165, earned two victories in a double dual against No. 25 Northern Iowa and Cornell College on Dec. 13.  The Stillwater, Okla. native pinned No. 3 Moza Fay of Northern Iowa in just 48 seconds to notch his first win of the day to lead the Hawkeyes to a 40-3 rout of the Panthers.  Perry then went on to pin Cornell's Christian Coffey in 4:17 to help Iowa shut out the Rams, 51-0.  Perry is now 5-1 on the season with all five victories coming by way of falls.  This is Perry's second weekly laurel of his career.

Iowa State's Cyler Sanderson honored by Big 12

IRVING, Texas - Cyler Sanderson has been named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for his pin of Northern Iowa's Jarion Beets Sunday in Cedar Falls, the conference announced Monday afternoon. Sanderson receives this recognition for the first time in his career.

Sanderson helped lead the No. 2 Cyclones past No. 25 Northern Iowa, 29-10, for ISU's seventh dual win of the season. The sophomore pinned Beets in 2:12, after recording two takedowns in the first period. The fall marks the first of the season for Sanderson, who is ranked No. 4 in the nation at 157 pounds. The victory keeps Sanderson unbeaten at 11-0 and pushes his career mark to 40-9. Four of Sanderson's 11 victories have resulted in bonus points (two major decisions, a technical fall and a pin).

Buena Vista's Cook honored by Iowa Conference

Wrestling - Aaron Cook, Buena Vista University, Waconia, Minn./Waconia 

Cook, a junior 149-pounder, improved his overall record to 15-2 by going 4-0 at the Terry Haws Duals hosted by Saint John's (Minn.). He posted a technical fall and a major decision in his first two matches before tallying a 7-1 decision over Drew Larson of the host Johnnies. Cook's biggest win of the day came in his final match, where he upset NCAA Division II No. 6 Shane Walton of Minnesota State University, Moorhead by a 6-5 score. 

The IIAC also recognized the following outstanding athletic performances from the past week:

University of Dubuque sophomore 157-pounder Joshua Terrell (Round Lake, Ill./Round Lake) posted a 4-0 record for the Spartans at the Terry Haws Duals hosted by Saint John's (Minn.). Terrell defeated Joe Lofboom of Saint John's (12-2), Tallen Wald of MSU-Moorhead (11-3), and Michael Ourada of Ridgewater (11-1) by major decision and Josh Sundgren of St. Cloud State (20-5) by technical fall.
