USA Wrestling proudly announces its schedule for the 2007-2008 Ultimate Challenge Series. The popular series begins its sixth season on October 12th, 2007, in Fresno, Calif. and concludes April 6th, 2008 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at the 2008 ASICS USA Wrestling Folkstyle National Championships.

The sixth season will include a total of 13 events being conducting in 13 different states - California, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. The complete schedule can be viewed at the bottom of this article.

Five Ultimate Challenge Series events are new this year. These new events include an event in Pocatello, Idaho, and the four events comprising the Folkstyle Tour of America. The Folkstyle Tour of America is an exciting new series of events that will be held in Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, and Utah. As with years past, the top-three individual point scorers in each age-group division will be awarded an Ultimate Challenge Series Championship Belt. However, to keep the series more competitive, the belts will be awarded to individuals based on their top-seven placement scores in the Ultimate Challenge Series. The belts for all four age-group divisions will be awarded at the conclusion the 2008 ASICS USA Wrestling Folkstyle National Championships.

The Ultimate Dominator will be determined by the individual who scores the most points in all four age divisions. The Ultimate Dominator will also be determined using each individual's top-seven placement scores. USA Wrestling will recognize the Ultimate Dominator following the competition at the 2008 ASICS USA Wrestling Folkstyle National Championships.

In the event of a tie for an Ultimate Challenge Series Championship Belt or for the rights to be claimed the Ultimate Dominator, the following tie-breaker criteria will be used:
1) The individual with the most 1st Place finishes.
2) The individual with the most 2nd Place finishes.
3) The individual with the most 3rd Place finishes.
4) The individual with the highest placement at the 2008 ASICS USA Wrestling Folkstyle National Championships.

If a tie still exists, then each individual will be awarded a belt, or in the case of the Ultimate Dominator title, all individuals tied will be recognized.

As done last year, participants who are pursuing Ultimate Challenges Series Championships Belts and the Ultimate Dominator title must enter their results independently (or with the assistance of a parent/guardian) on-line at the following website, which is currently under construction for the new season:

Each participant will have to sign-up prior to entering their first tournament result. The results entered by each individual will be checked periodically by USA Wrestling to make sure all entered competitors are being honest. If any individual is found to be entering false results on purpose, the individual will be disqualified from the series.
