Steve Fraser, USA National Greco-Roman Coach
"Joe Betterman has been looking good in his training and he is feeling fresh. This is his first World Championships obviously and I think he is going to surprise a lot of people here. I think he's excited about this and he's up to the challenge."
"Lindsey and Harry obviously proved they can win at this level by winning a medal last year. This is a new year and they need to prove it all over again. I think they're ready to do that."
Lindsey Durlacher, Colorado Springs, Colo. (New York AC)
Will face Thomas Ronningen (Norway)
"I'm excited, but at the same time I know there is a lot is on the line with this being the Olympic qualification tournament. I am just hoping to have a strong enough performance to qualify this weight class for the Olympics. I know another medal would be outstanding, but I think at this point you have to worry about breaking through and qualifying for the Olympic Games. I am definitely looking to improve on that bronze-medal performance and qualifying for the Olympic Games."
"I was close to being in the finals last year and lost a controversial match to the Iranian kid. I will be ready this time, I will be ready."
Joe Betterman, Chicago, Ill. (New York AC)
Will face Stig Andre Berge (Norway)
"It's just a great opportunity for me. All my teammates have helped me a lot. They've given me a lot of good advice."
Harry Lester, Akron, Ohio (Gator WC)
Will face Juha Hiltunen (Finland)
"The key for me is to wrestle hard every match from start to finish. If I do that, I don't think anybody in the World can beat me. I need to make sure I step onto the mat prepared and ready to go and warm up well. I need to stay focused and listen to my coaches throughout the match. I'm going to see new guys I haven't faced before and old guys I have faced before. I have to be ready for anything that comes my way."
