60 kg/132 lbs. - Lindsey Durlacher, Colorado Springs, Colo. (New York AC)
Will face Kelvin Escorcia of Nicaragua in his first match

"After the worst-case scenario with the flight problems and everything else that happened, there was an opening at 60 kilos and I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to bump up and face some tougher competition. Yeah, I probably could have won a gold medal at my weight class at 55 kilos, but I'm ready for the challenge of trying to win at 60 kilos."

"The coaches were nice enough to grant me my wish of moving up to 60 kilos and now I need to repay them with a good performance down here."

74 kg/163 lbs. - T.C. Dantzler, Colorado Springs, Colo. (Gator WC)
Will face Odellis Herrero of Cuba in his first match

"I'm looking forward to getting this competition under our belt and moving on to the World Championships. I have a good match right off the bat with Cuba. I lost to him in the finals of the Pan Am Championships. I've been training to avenge that loss from the last time we met."

"We have a great team and we'll keep building for the World Championships. We got off to a great start this morning to start the tournament and we're just looking to keep it rolling."

96 kg/211.5 lbs. - Justin Ruiz, Colorado Springs, Colo. (New York AC)
Will face Manuel Simono of Dominican Republic in his first match

"Seeing the other guys on our team doing really well, that pumps you up. You're kind of focused on doing your own thing, but it does help when our team gets on a roll like that."

"This tournament gives us a chance to fine-tune our conditioning and fine-tune our strength and work on some things. Anytime you can get some good matches in, that really helps."
