Big 12 Athlete of the Year and ESPY Nominee Sits Down on Live Television…

Columbia, Mo. - Recent Big 12 Athlete of the Year and ESPY nominee Ben Askren (Hartland, Wis.) will interview live today on ESPNews beginning at 2:20 (CT) on The Hot List.   Fans should check their local listings for channel information.  

Nominated for an ESPY in the category of Best Male College Athlete, the award show will air live on ESPN, Sunday, July 15, at 8 p.m. (CT).  Askren stands in a category alongside Texas guard Kevin Durant, Ohio State center Greg Oden and Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith.  Fans were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite Best Male College Athlete online over the past week.

Askren is Missouri's first two-time wrestling National Champion and set several Tiger records including most career falls (91), most career wins (153) and most consecutive wins (87).  

ASU Wrestler Anthony Robles to Appear on Montel Monday Morning

Sun Devil redshirt freshman will be on show featuring Inspirational Teens

TEMPE, Ariz. - Anthony Robles, a redshirt freshman on the Arizona State University wrestling team, will appear on Montel Monday morning as the talk show host, Montel Williams, features several Inspirational Teens. The show, which was taped several weeks ago, can be seen Monday morning locally on Fox 10 starting at 10 a.m.

Born with one leg, Robles made headlines both locally and nationally in 2006 as he won the NHSAA Senior Nationals in Pittsburgh, Pa., to complete a perfect senior season that also saw him win the Arizona state title. Posting records of 48-0 in both his junior and senior campaigns, Robles ended his high school career with a 129-15 record and two state championships.

Prior to redshirting as a freshman at ASU last season, Robles was a finalist for and ESPY Award (Best Male Athlete with a Disability) and was an honored guest to several events, including home games for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Cardinals while also sitting ring side at both a WWE and UFC event. Robles is not stranger to national television as he also has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live (hosted by former ASU student Jimmy Kimmel) and ESPN's Cold Pizza morning show.
