Dale Anderson (Americans Against Quotas)

So far, Governor Bush has stated that he want to help us and will do something about proportionality when he is President. So far, Vice President Gore has stated that he is satisfied with the way Title IX is working and has made no concession about changing the proportionality rule if he becomes President. Proportionality is the quota that has been applied by the Federal Department of Education to create "gender equity." The quota requires that the same percentage of females compete in athletics as are enrolled. Since female enrollment is approaching 60% nationwide, there is no way to achieve proportionality without destroying male Olympic sports. It is therefore important that you consider the positions of the presidential candidates on proportionality when you vote. If you are able ask the candidates what their positions are on the quota. The positions of Congressmen on the issue of proportionality is also important. There are 12 races that will be very close and may well decide whether the republicans or the democrats control congress. Of those, here are the ones where the wrestling community could make a difference: Illinois (District 10) Kirk (republican) v Gash (democrat). Waukegan suburbs. California (District 36) Keykendall (republican) v Harman (democrat). West LA, Torrance, Manhattan Beach. California (District 27) Rogan (republican) v Schiff (democrat). Burbank, Pasadena. Montana (at large) Rehberg (republican) v Keenan (democrat). Entire state. New Jersey (District 12) Zimmer (republican) v Holt (democrat) Princeton, Flemington. Washington (District 2) Koster (republican) v Larsen (democrat) Puget Sound-Everett, Bellington. Pennsylvania (District 13) Greenleaf (republican) v Hoeffel (democrat) Philadelphia suburbs. Florida (District 8) Sublette or Keller (republican) v Chapin (democrat). Central Florida, Orlando. Of course, every congressional race is important and it is important that you ask every candidate about his/her position on proportionality before November and spread the word. However, I am looking for people--in the above districts particularly -- who can help to work on the candidates and spread the word about the quota proportionality. As for states where we need to get the word out. Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, New Jersey and California should all be close and important in the Presidential race. Again every state is important. But if you are from one of the above states and you can help, please contact me at DAA2000@aol.com.
