Competitors in all divisions can now register online to participate in the 2007 Beach National Wrestling Championships and World Team Trials in Rochester, N.Y., July 6-8.

All athletes SHOULD pre-register on-line at by 6:00 PM (EST), Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007 or will be subjected to a late fee. 

Entry fee is $20 if pre-registered by 6:00 PM (EST), Tuesday, July 3rd, or if registering on-site: $25 for Schoolboy/girl, Cadet, and Juniors; $30 for Seniors and Veterans. Please make checks payable to "Titan Wrestling Club." 

There will be competition at five age divisions at the Beach National Championships: Schoolboy/girl, Cadet, Junior, Senior (men and women) and Veterans. In all age groups, weight classes will be determined after weighins, using the blocked weight system.

The World Team Trials will determine the U.S. team to compete in the Beach Wrestling competition at the World Wrestling Games in Antalya, Turkey, Sept. 7-9. Only the World Team Trials will feature the international weights for Beach Wrestling: Men (Under 85 kg/187.25 lbs. and Over 85 kg/187.25 lbs) and Women (Under 70 kg/154 lbs. and Over 70 kg/154 lbs.)

The Beach Belt Battle is a team belt award given to the top club team at the Beach Wrestling Nationals. Team standings will be determined based upon points scored by each club member in all age groups.

In addition to outstanding wrestling action during the weekend, it will be a weekend of fun, with many activities along Lake Ontario alongside the U.S. Beach Nationals. 

Also held during the weekend are two other major sports events, the American Power Boat Association's Toyota Water Jam and the New York Beach Volleyball Championships. In addition, the Ontario Beach Sports and Music Festival will be held during the weekend.

Beach Wrestling was added as a new style of international wrestling, starting in 2005. The first World Beach Wrestling Championships was held in 2006. Athletes compete on sand, in a style that features takedowns within a ring. The sport has been growing in popularity across the nation.

This will be the second year that USA Wrestling has hosted a national championship event in Beach Wrestling. The first U.S. Beach Wrestling National Championships was held at the Hilton Singer Island Waterfront Resort in Riviera Beach, Fla., August 19, 2006.

Organizers have announced that one of the listed host hotels for the event, the Quality Inn, has a registration deadline of Saturday, June 23.

Participants at the Beach National Wrestling Championships and World Team Trials can secure a room for $100 a night by calling (585)464-8800. After June 23, the block of rooms for the USA Wrestling Beach Nationals will not be available. There is no guarantee of room availability or the discounted price after that date.

The USA Wrestling Beach National Championships and World Team Trials will be held at Charlotte Beach in Rochester, N.Y., July 6-8. 

The other listed hotel for the Beach Nationals event, the America's Best Value Inn, still has availability, but only on a first-come, first-served basis. The rate at this hotel for the Beach Nationals is $89, and can be ordered by calling 585-254-1000. Another hotel that was not listed on the event flyer but may be available for participants in the U.S. Beach Nationals is the Woodcliff Hotel, located at 199 Woodcliff Dr., Rochester NY 14692. USA Wrestling has been informed that there is high demand for hotels in the city of Rochester and surrounding areas during the weekend of the event. All area hotels are filling up quickly.
