USA Wrestling will be hosting its popular Kids/Cadet Regionals in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling in May and June. The nation's top youth wrestlers will compete for Regional honors, as well as an opportunity to compete on the national level later in the year. Athletes who wish to participate must contact their state associations to determine the qualification requirements in their state. In order to compete in the Kids Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Championships in Green Bay, Wis., July 5-8, an athlete must have been entered in his or her respective Kids Regional Championships. Cadet wrestlers are 15 and 16 years old. There are six remaining Cadet Regionals. The Northwest Cadet Regional was held in March and was a qualifier for the Cadet National Championships in Fargo, N.D., July 20-26. For the second straight year, Cadet wrestlers can attend any of the Regional events they wish to. In five of the remaining Cadet Regionals, the top three placewinners in each weight class at a Cadet Regional qualifies for their state team for the ASICS/Vaughan Cadet Nationals. The only Regional that is not a qualifier for the Cadet Nationals is the West Cadet Regionals in Klamath Falls, Ore.
