AKRON, Ohio - Ohio's Jamie Clark fell to Missouri's Ryan Mango in a tough three-period match in the finals Friday of the FILA Cadet Nationals in Greco-Roman wrestling.

But he didn't have to wait long to avenge that loss.

Clark drew Mango in the first round of the FILA Cadet Nationals in freestyle and immediately paid Mango back with a 6-6, 6-0, 5-1 win at 46 kg/101.25 lbs. on Saturday. Mango is a double Cadet Nationals champion who also won a Cadet Folkstyle National title this year.

That win provided the springboard for Clark, who went on to win the title by downing St. Edward High School teammate Gus Sako 3-0, 6-0 in the final round on Sunday afternoon.

For his performance, Clark was named Outstanding Wrestler.

Clark repeated as FILA Cadet National champion in freestyle. He also was a Cadet National champion last summer in Fargo, N.D.

"It's fast-paced and fun," Clark said of competing in freestyle. "There's not a whole lot of rules and opponents can't stall very easily. I don't care who I meet, I treat any opponent the same and I don't ease up on anybody even if it's a teammate."

The remainder of the champions in FILA Cadet Nationals included Hunter Stieber of Ohio at 42 kg/92.5 lbs., Logan Stieber of Ohio at 50 kg/110 lbs., Tony Ramos of Illinois at 54 kg/119 lbs., Dylan Alton of Pennsylvania at 58 kg/127.25 lbs., Jason Chamberlain of Utah at 63 kg/138.75 lbs., Alex Meade of Delaware at 69 kg/152 lbs., Corey Peltier of New Jersey at 76 kg/167.5 lbs., Romero Cotton of Kansas at 85 kg/ 187.25 lbs., Andrew Tumlin of Ohio at 100 kg/220 lbs. and Atticus Disney of Kansas at 125 kg/275 lbs.

Cotton and Disney were double FILA Cadet Nationals champions after each won Greco-Roman titles on Friday.
