Veteran Tolly Thompson is still on top here after making the last two World Teams. Thompson was a 2005 World bronze medalist.

Thompson (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Sunkist Kids) has a number of challengers right behind him, led by two-time NCAA champion Steve Mocco (Stillwater, Okla./New York AC).

Mocco is done with college now, including a brief stint on the Oklahoma State football team, and is focused full-time on freestyle now. Mocco placed second to Thompson at the World Team Trials the last two years.

If chooses to move up, Cormier is a threat to win this class as well with his speed and quickness providing a tough matchup for anybody who faces him.

Tommy Rowlands (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) was third at the 2006 World Team Trials and two-time NCAA champion Cole Konrad (Freedom, Wis./Minnesota Storm) was fourth. Expect Konrad to be right in the mix now that he's focusing on freestyle full-time. Konrad was third at the 2006 World University Games.

Four-time NCAA Division II champion Les Sigman (Lincoln, Neb./Sunkist Kids) reached the semifinals of the Challenge Tournament last year at the World Team Trials before injuring his shoulder against Mocco. Sigman is healthy again and has gained experience overseas, winning a bronze medal recently in a tournament in Italy.

Nebraska-Kearney junior Tervel Dlagnev (Arlington, Texas) also could be in the mix. The reigning Division II national champion is considered a future star in freestyle and has trained extensively with Thompson and Rowlands.

Other wrestlers to watch in this class are Greg Wagner (Ann Arbor, Mich./New York AC), Mike Faust (Iowa City, Iowa/Gator WC), Pat Cummins (Evanston, Ill./New York AC) and Michael Irving (Colorado Springs, Colo./Gator WC).
