Barry Davis and Tom Ryan will be the featured speakers at the 13th annual Champions Breakfast, sponsored by Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
The event is held in conjunction with the 2007 NCAA Wrestling Championships, in Auburn Hills, Mich.
The Champions Breakfast will be on Friday, March 16 at 8:30 a.m. at The Palace of Auburn Hills, Ersa Club.
Davis, the head coach at the University of Wisconsin, will be inducted to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member on June, 2.
The 1984 Olympic silver medalist has coached the Badgers for 13 seasons. While at the University of Iowa, Davis was the winningest wrestler in school history, and won three NCAA titles. Davis' Badger team placed a strong second in last week's Big Ten Championship.
Ryan, who led Hofstra to six consecutive conference titles, is finishing his first season as Ohio State head coach. Ryan will be speaking about the impact his son Teague had on his life. Teague passed away unexpectedly from a heart related cause on February 16, 2004, when Ryan was serving as head coach at nationally ranked Hofstra.
Ryan was a two-time All American at the University of Iowa on two National and Big Ten Championship teams.
In addition to Davis and Ryan, a challenging and motivating keynote message will be given by Detroit Lions Chaplain Dave Wilson.
Admission is free for all NWCA coaches and members and wrestlers competing in the NCAA Championships, and $10 for the general public.
NWCA coaches and teams competing in the NCAA Championships can receive free tickets, plus the general public can sign up and pay at the NWCA booth on The Palace Concourse during the First Round of wrestling competition, Thursday, March 15.
