Nebraska-Kearney holds slim edge over Minnesota State-Mankato, Central Oklahoma in final Division II poll

EDMOND, Okla. - Nebraska-Kearney maintained its No. 1 spot in the NCAA Division II wrestling rankings by a slim margin Thursday as only four point separated the top three teams in the final NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches' Association poll. 

The West Regional champion Antelopes were the No. 1 pick for the third straight time, receiving four first-place votes and finishing with 154 points in balloting of coaches from around the country. UNK will host the 2007 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships March 9-10 in Kearney, Neb. 

North Regional champion Minnesota State-Mankato had three first-place votes and moved into second with 152 points, while Midwest Regional winner Central Oklahoma picked up the remaining first-place nod and was third with 150 points. 

Three-time defending national champion Nebraska-Omaha stayed fourth and East Regional champion Pittsburgh-Johnstown (Pa.) is fifth, followed by Upper Iowa, Adams State (Colo.), Fort Hays State (Kan.), Indianapolis (Ind.) and Mercyhurst (Pa.). 

UNK features three top-ranked individuals in Trevor Charboneau (125 pounds), Brett Allgood (133) and Tervel Dlagnev (285).  MSU-Mankato is led by No. 1s Jason Rhoten (149) and Andy Pickar (165), while UCO is paced by No. 1 Kyle Evans (141). 

The other four top-ranked individuals are Findlay's Tony Guerra (157), UNO's J.D. Naig (174), UPJ's Mike Corcetti (184) and Adams State's Casey Woodall (197).
