Second-Ranked Missouri Wrestling Team Takes on No. 3 Iowa State at Home

Columbia, Mo. - The second-ranked Missouri wrestling team will take on No. 3 Iowa State Sunday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. (CT) in a broadcast televised LIVE from the Hearnes Center.  Airing on KZOU, channel 28 for local residents, Mike Kelly, the Voice of the Tigers, along with 1991 Missouri All-American and current standup comedian Greg Warren will call the action.  

Currently 3-0 in the Big 12 Conference, Missouri is looking for its first-ever perfect conference season record in 62 years of Tiger wrestling.  Missouri and Iowa State are the only league schools with untarnished Big 12 records this season.  The third-ranked Cyclones (9-3) are Missouri's sixth top-10 opponent of the season and have nine wresters ranked among the top-20 of their respective weight class, including five among the top-10.

The Tigers, now 10-1 on the season, have eight wrestlers ranked in their respective weight class with the Askren brothers, Ben and Maxwell (Hartland, Wis.), holding onto the top spot at 174 and 197 pounds, respectively.  

The Tigers have managed to set new attendance records in each of their past two home duals this season.  Most recently, 2,728 fans were on hand as Missouri opened its Big 12 campaign, Jan. 28, against Nebraska with a 31-11 victory over the Cornhuskers.  Fans interested in attending Missouri's Feb. 11 dual against Iowa State will receive a $2 ticket if they were black or gold or pay the regular price of $5 for adults and $3 for students at the door.  

Students interested in joining the well-known Pinhead Club, Missouri wrestling's fan club and cheering section, can do so by signing in at the West concourse of the Hearnes Center to receive a free t-shirt.  

Fans that attend the dual on Sunday will still have a chance to watch a rebroadcast of the event on Fox Sports Midwest Sunday night at 9 p.m. (CT) or Feb. 12 at Noon.  The 9 p.m. broadcast will air immediately following the conclusion of the Missouri Valley Conference basketball game.  Fans should be aware that there is a chance for a slight delay.
