CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Air Force junior heavyweight Anthony Stegeman has been named the Western Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week as announced by league officials.
Stegeman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder HS) led the Air Force Academy in three dual meets, going undefeated on the weekend. Stegeman opened with a fall, his fourth of the year, over North Dakota State's Justin LaGosh, registering a pin in a time of 4:34. He then registered an 8-3 decision over Adams State's Jeff Schossow and closed out the weekend with a tech fall over Portland State's Zack Smith. Stegeman snapped his eight-match losing streak and improves his dual mark to 5-8.
The Western Wrestling Conference is comprised of seven schools including the Air Force Academy, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Utah Valley State and Wyoming.
