GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's James Knox is the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week for January 29 after posting a pair of dual match victories in conference play last week.

In his first match on Saturday, Knox pinned his second fall of the season in thrilling fashion. After forcing extra time against NC State's Taylor Cummings, Knox avoided a takedown and then got Cummings on his back for a pin 31 seconds into overtime. His victory propelled Maryland past NC State 21-18 after the Terrapins had trailed by nine points with three matches remaining.

Later that day, the Baltimore native sealed Maryland's win at Duke with a 6-5 decision over Kellan McKeon in two overtimes. Knox improves to 3-1 in conference action. He is 12-11 overall and 9-7 in dual matches.

Knox and the Terrapins do not return to action until they travel to American on February 9. In this week's only conference action, North Carolina and Duke face off on Wednesday, January 31 at 7 p.m. at Chapel Hill High School. Virginia Tech also competes that night, at UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m. On Saturday, February 3, Virginia faces Ohio and Ashland in Athens, Ohio and NC State travels to Indiana.
