Oklahoma State's Johny Hendricks named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week

IRVING, Texas - Johny Hendricks (Oklahoma State) has been named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for his performances in January, the conference announced. Hendricks receives this recognition for the second time in his collegiate career.

Senior Johny Hendricks went 2-0 for the week with a victory over Iowa's fourth-ranked Mark Perry and a fall over Oregon's Jake McCoy. Hendricks recorded nine take-downs over McCoy before pinning him in the third period. At National Duals he defeated No. 5 Nick Baima of Northern Iowa, No. 3 Mark Perry of Iowa, No. 7 Matt Pell of Missouri and No. 2 Travis Paulson of Iowa State. He is currently 23-0 on the season and has won 17 of his 23 matches by bonus points.
