Warren, Zadick, Pritzlaff named Wrestlers of the Year by FILA

World Champions Joe Warren and Bill Zadick, and World Bronze Medalist Donny Pritzlaff have been named Wrestlers of the Year in their respective weight classes by the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA).
The rankings are based on the results of the best eight wrestlers of each category in the following competitions: Senior World Championships, Senior Continental Championship and Finale "Golden Grand Prix."
Warren captured his first World-level medal after winning a gold medal at the 2006 World Championships on Sept. 25 in Guangzhou, China. Warren (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) won the Greco-Roman World title at 60 kg/132 pounds. Warren, who was competing on his second straight World Team, also won a gold medal at the Pan American Championships this year.
Zadick (Colorado Springs, Colo./Gator WC) won a World title after capturing the freestyle gold medal at 66 kg/145.5 pounds on Sept. 28 in China. Zadick was competing at the World Championships for the second time. He was seventh in the 2001 World meet.
Pritzlaff (Madison, Wis./New York AC) won a World bronze medal at 74 kg/163 pounds on Sept. 28 in his first trip to the World Championships. Pritzlaff also won a silver medal at the Pan Am Championships in 2006 and placed fifth in the Ivan Yarygin Memorial International in Russia.
World Bronze Medalist Sammie Henson (Flintstone, Ga./Sunkist Kids) finished third in the FILA rankings in freestyle at 55 kg/121 pounds. Henson also won the Uzbekistan Independence Cup and placed second at the Yasar Dogu International in Turkey.
World Silver Medalist Mike Zadick (Solon, Iowa/Hawkeye WC) finished fifth in the freestyle rankings at 60 kg/132 pounds. Heavyweight Steve Mocco (Stillwater, Okla./New York AC) was seventh in freestyle at 120 kg/264.5 pounds. Mocco won a gold medal at the Pan Am Championships.
World Bronze Medalist Lindsey Durlacher (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) was fourth in the Greco-Roman rankings at 55 kg/121 pounds. Durlacher also won the Dave Schultz Memorial International this year and was fifth in the Poland Open.
World Team member Erin Tomeo (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) was sixth in the women's freestyle rankings at 59 kg/130 pounds. Tomeo placed seventh at the World Championships in 2006. She also placed second in the Alexander Medved International in Belarus and took third in the Klippan Ladies Golden Grand Prix in Sweden.
Junior World Team member Jackie Cataline (Corona, Calif./Cataline's Wildcats) was ranked eighth in women's freestyle at 63 kg/138.75 pounds. Cataline won a gold medal at the Pan Am Championships.
