USA Wrestling is now accepting media credential applications for the 2007 season.

A media accreditation application in a PDF format is now available for journalists to download. It has been posted on TheMat.com (in the "Media Credentials" section under the "USA Wrestling" pull down button). In addition, it is posted on the USOC Press Box. The PDF also is being sent via e-mail to selected journalists. A copy can be sent via FAX or mail upon request.

This is an exciting time for wrestling in the United States with the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, less than two years away.

The 2007 USA Wrestling schedule includes the U.S. World Team Trials in Las Vegas on June 8-10. The top American wrestlers in men's and women's freestyle and Greco-Roman will shoot for spots on the U.S. team that will compete at the 2007 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The annual ASICS/Vaughan Junior Nationals and Accelerade Cadet Nationals, the largest and most prestigious youth wrestling event in the world, is scheduled for July 20-26 in Fargo, N.D.

The U.S. National Championships are set for April 4-7 in Las Vegas. Sombo will be added to the competition this season as it joins men's and women's freestyle and Greco-Roman in crowning national champions. The event also includes the Veterans and FILA Junior National Championships.

The Americans are coming off a strong performance at the 2006 World Championships in Guangzhou, China. The U.S. men's freestyle and Greco-Roman teams each placed third in the team race. The U.S. also crowned two World Champions with Joe Warren winning a gold medal in Greco-Roman and Bill Zadick matching his feat in men's freestyle.
