California USA Wrestling has issued a request to the wrestling community to assist in the effort to reinstate wrestling at Fresno State Univ.
Those involved in the effort to save the Fresno State wrestling program have developed a petition seeking the immediate reinstatement of the Div. I wrestling program which was dropped by the university in June. The goal is to collect over 10,000 names on the petition.
"Wrestling family, please take the time to do this," said Rob Valerio of California USA Wrestling. "Send this request to at least 10 people. Let's bring it back now."

The petition says the following:
Immediate Reinstatement Of Wrestling at Fresno State
We, the undersigned, are of legal voting age. We believe that Dr. John Welty, President of CSU Fresno, and Thomas Boeh, Athletic Director, violated the public trust by unilaterally deciding to eliminate the wrestling program. They further breached the public trust by lying, misrepresenting facts and telling half-truths in order to advance their own agendas rather than serve the community of Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley.
We, the undersigned, believe that the wrestling program should be immediately reinstated so that the University best serves the needs of the student-athletes of the San Joaquin Valley and the State of California.
