USA Wrestling Tentative National Event Schedule released

USA Wrestling has released its tentative schedule for Regional, National and International events for the 2006-07 season. This includes all the major USA Wrestling events on each of the age-group levels.

"USA Wrestling is excited to provide a comprehensive schedule of wrestling competitions on all of our age-group levels," said Pete Isais, USA Wrestling National Events Director. "We are very excited about this year's schedule. Wrestlers and their families will have the opportunity to participate in many outstanding events this year."
The schedule starts off with three major Senior international events:
- The Sunkist Kids/ASU International Open in Tempe, Ariz., Oct. 12-14
- The New York Athletic Club Holiday International in New York, N.Y., Nov. 17-19
- The Dave Schultz Memorial International Open in Colorado Springs, Colo., Feb. 8-10
The U.S. National Wrestling Championships in all three Olympic styles will return to the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev., April 4-7. Held during the week will also be the FILA Junior Nationals for men, the Veterans Freestyle and Greco-Roman Nationals and the Western Junior Regional Championships.
The world's largest wrestling tournament, the ASICS/Vaughan Junior National Championships and the Accelerade Cadet National Championships, will once again be held in the FargoDome in Fargo, N.D., July 20-26. The nation's best high school age wrestlers will be on display in the extravaganza which has become a wrestling tradition.
The U.S. World Team Trials will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev., June 8-10. The nation's best Olympic-caliber wrestlers will compete for spots on the 2006 U.S. World Team, which will compete in Baku, Azerbaijan next summer.
The Kids National Championship events will remain in the same locations where they were successful in previous seasons. The ASICS Folkstyle National Championships will be held in Cedar Falls, Iowa, March 30 - April 1. The ASICS Kids Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Championships return to Green Bay, Wis., July 5-8.
The major age-group Dual Meet National Championships events will remain in the cities where they were successfully hosted last season.
The Schoolboy/girl Dual National Championships are set for Indianapolis, Ind., June 6-10. The Cadet Dual National Championships will be hosted in Kansas City, Mo., June 21-25. The Junior Dual National Championships return to Oklahoma City, Okla., June 26 - July 1.
In addition, the Women's Junior Dual National Championships are scheduled for Fargo, N.D. on July 24. The Middle School Folkstyle Dual Nationals Championships are set for Danville, Ill., March 23-25.
The Body Bar Women's National Championships, which feature women's national events on the University, FILA Junior, FILA Cadet and Kids levels, return to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., April 20-22.
The FILA Junior World Team Training Camp and Trials for men will also be held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. in late May.
USA Wrestling has also announced its Regional Championships on the Junior, Cadet and Kids levels for the year. The popular events offer outstanding competition in the Olympic styles for wrestlers all across the nation.
