UNO's Garcia, Naig named to Wrestling USA Magazine Preseason 200

UNO national champion wrestlers Cody Garcia (125 pounds) and J.D. Naig (174 pounds) have been named to the Wrestling USA Magazine Preseason 200 which recognizes the top 20 wrestlers in the nation in each weight class, regardless of division. 

Garcia, a sophomore from Hutchinson, Kan., was ranked 18th in the WUSA Preseason Poll. He notched a 39-4 record last season as a freshman, while winning the NCAA II national championship, the North Region championship, along with six other major tournament titles. 

Naig, a senior from Emmetsburg, Iowa, was tabbed at No. 13 in the prestigious preseason poll. He posted a 35-4 mark last season while winning his second-straight national title, the North Region championship, and four major tournament titles. Naig is a three-time All-American, placing third as a freshman and first the last two seasons. 

Nebraska-Omaha, the three-time defending NCAA II national team champions, will begin the 2006-07 season on Nov. 4 when they participate in the Daktronics Open in Brookings, S.D.
