"He made a fight out of it. That wasn't too smart. I tech falled him in Uzbekistan earlier this year. I think he knew he couldn't beat me. He tried to sneak something in, tried to frustrate me. It didn't work."

"I won the bronze. I have three medals now. It was hard. I haven't been in wrestlebacks for a long time. It is hard to get the mindset back. But all the people, you don't want to let them down. You look around here. The coaches, like Kevin Jackson and Lou Rosselli, my workout partner Danny Felix, the team leader Steve Silver. You see them and you do what you can to win for them. I wanted this for my family and for all of them."

"I wanted to get a gold medal for Kevin Jackson. He is a great coach. You just don't want to let him down out there."

"The mistake I made in the semis was stupid. I let myself down. I need to get sharper. It has been two years since I came back from retirement. Every year, I get better. I am glad I got the bronze medal. In a few weeks, if I lost and placed fifth, I would really be upset with myself."

"We made some critical mistakes to lose the match. In on the clinch and we lose the position. We didn't finish the move. One of our areas of concentration was lead management. We didn't manage the lead well. Mistakes cost us a World championship. He will have another opportunity. Hopefully, he will learn, remember and never let that happen again. We are disappointed. We spent a lot of time in those areas in training, both technically and tactically. To get beat in those areas in the top of the list is disappointing. I think Mike will learn. It won't happen again."

"The bronze medal means a lot, especially when you come back after your dream is shattered. And both of those wrestlers had their dreams shattered.They were out there fighting, head butting, scrapping. That wanted that bronze. Sammie was the better wrestler. He didn't make mistakes. He got his offense going. That is the key to winning a World Championship, not making mistakes. It is disappointing when you lose a match. It is heartbreaking when you make mistakes to lose."

"Obviously, we are all very disappointed. Most of all, Mike is disappointed. I think the better man lost. We made two critical mistakes. We had the clinch in the first period. He didn't wrestle through the position and make sure he scored. Second, he was ahead with 11 seconds left. You can't shut down when you are ahead. You have to wrestle through. Mike Zadick will be back. The loss will eat at him. He has a huge heart. He won't forget this night. Hopefully, it will motivate him to train to get better."

"I was impressed with his desire to win the medal. He was very disappointed to lose in the semis. The coaches had him ready. In an hour, he was thinking in the right way. In the beginning of the match, Sammie gave up a point. Then he make a mistake. He headbutted Sammie. That got him going. Then Sammie dominated him."

"It is bittersweet for the tournament. Byers wrestled well. What can you do? The Turk is tough. It is unfortunate the ref gave the Turk one point. That was a big deal in that match. If Byers wins either of those flips, we win the World Team title. Byers gave his all. I am proud of him. I am proud of this team. I am proud of the U.S. effort."

"In Greco-Roman in the U.S., we have our share of adversities. It would have been nice. We had the World title in our hands. We were coin flips and inches away. Just two or three matches would make a difference. If Justin Ruiz wrestles to his potential, or if Jake Clark beats the Iranian, that is six team points. If Byers beats the Turk, it puts the Turk and the Georgian out. I guarantee you, even if he lost to the Cuban, Dremiel would be winning a medal. We had a chance of making history - beating Russia for the first time, getting four medals, winning the team title. We let it slip through our fingers. I am proud of this team, proud of the coaching staff. I am happy with third, but not satisfied."
