"I've got a responsibility to my country to win medals at the World and Olympic competitions. That is my job. Brandon Paulson and Dennis Hall have performed in past years. It is right for me to perform now. It is my job to fill their shoes. I am trying to fill that gap, the tradition of great American Greco-Roman lightweights."

"That was just a start. I want the gold next year. I set small attainable goals. A set a goal of winning a medal at the World Championships this year. Next, the goal is to win the World and Olympic gold. I turned some heads with my wrestling today. I want to thank my coaches and all the people who believe in me. I didn't do this for myself. I really don't get that much out of my wrestling. I do this for the people who said I couldn't win,  I couldn't perform. I do it for them. There is not a lot of fun in wrestling. Sure, it is fun to win. But other aspects of wrestling are exhausting. I do this for my family, my friends and the American people."

"I knew if I got a second chance, I wouldn't waste it. I knew if I got there, I would give 150 percent, everything in my tank. I knew I had more to give. I have more than 100 percent in my tank. I think I just went 100 percent in the early matches. Against Gergov and Eroglu, I gave more than I have."

After last year, I wrestled so poorly. This year I gave 100 percent each match. Even though I lost, I gave everything I had. I am satisfied with the way I wrestled. It's a different feeling. I beat good guys this year. Last year, I lost the only match. I lost today to Krygyzstan, I should have beaten him. I had to show everybody what I had, what kind of heart I have and how I can wrestle."

"It feels  better, but it is not the color I wanted. It's satisfying to see how much hard work I put into this. It shows people how dedicated I am. I have only been here twice and I have talked to people who have been here a lot and have never medaled. They were good wrestlers. It shows the dedication I put in and my coaches put into this."
