Canadian Olympian Craig Roberts passed away on Tuesday after a battle with cancer

Former Canadian National Team member Craig Roberts passed away September 12, 2006 after a long battle with a rare form of cancer. He was 38 years of age and is survived by his wife Kristina and son Luka. At the time of his passing he was the Western Canadian Sales Manager for E&J Gallo Winery and was living in South Surrey, BC.
Craig Roberts was born in Everett, Washington and moved to Smithers, British Columbia at an early age. Later he studied at Simon Fraser University with his major being in Education. Throughout his stellar university wrestling career he was coached by Mike Jones. He also competed as a member of the Burnaby Mountain Wrestling Club once his university career was concluded.
Craig became came to wrestling as a 14 year old high school athlete and developed to the point where he made the Canadian National Team in 1992. He went on to represent Canada in numerous international competitions including the World Championships, World Cups and the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
His imprint on Canadian Wrestling will be felt for years to come and his cheerful and competitive nature will be missed at the Burnaby Mountain Wrestling Club.
