Patrick A. Tocci of Palmerton, Pa., 58, an active USA Wrestling club leader for many years, passed away in a boating accident on the Chesapeake Bay on Saturday, September 9 in Baltimore, Md.
Tocci was the director of the Talon Wrestling Club, a very active USA Wrestling club in the Bethlehem, Pa. area. The club hosted numerous international exchanges for a decade (1993-03) and provided quality training opportunities for numerous young athletes. Tocci was a Team Leader on an international exchange tour to China in 2001.
He was actively involved in wrestling for over 30 years including coaching stints at Parkland and Palmerton.
"My dad always enjoyed his time working with USA Wrestling on hosting international teams with his club," said his son Pat Tocci. "Over the years, he hosted Russia numerous times, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, France and other countries. He also enjoyed doing a tour to China."
His son Pat Tocci competed for Brown Univ. and is now an employee with the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 15 at the Church of the Manger, 1401 Greenview Drive, Bethlehem, Pa. A memorial service will follow at 8:00 p.m.
