STILLWATER, Okla. (OSU Athletics http://www.okstate.com) * Oklahoma State head wrestling coach John Smith announced today that Mark Cody has been named as the Cowboys' next assistant coach.    "Mark Cody, first and foremost, is an outstanding individual," said Smith. "This is a wonderful opportunity for the program to bring in an experienced coach. His knowledge and experience in coaching and recruiting have been nationally recognized."    Cody joins the staff following 12 years with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. At Nebraska, Cody coached 22 All-Americans and two national champions.    "I'm very excited to enter into a program with such tradition," said Cody. "I'm also very excited about working with Coach Smith. Through out my coaching career. I've always tried to learn as much as possible about this sport, and I think this will be a great opportunity for me."    Cody joins the Cowboy wrestling staff, which includes Mark Branch, Pat Smith and Eric Guerrero.     This is Cody's second stint in Stillwater after spending three years training for the U.S. National Team from 1987 to 1989.    Cody, a native of Binghamton, N.Y., was a three-time NCAA All-American. He spent his first two seasons at the State University of New York (Delhi) and then transferred to Missouri in 1982, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business.    In 1988, Cody was a 198-pound finalist at the U.S. Olympic Trials.
