Oklahoma coach Jack Spates will serve as the keynote speaker at the 12th annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes/National Wrestling Coaches Association "Champions" Breakfast on Friday morning, March 17 in Oklahoma City.
The event will be held in conjunction with the NCAA Wrestling Championships. The breakfast is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. at the Cox Convention Center, in the second level in Ballroom C. It is located across the street from the Ford Center, site of this year's NCAA Championships, and is connected to the Renaissance OKC Hotel.
"For 12 years, we have celebrated our love of wrestling and Jesus Christ through the testimonies of champions too numerous to name here," said Tim Johnson of the FCA. "For 12 years, we've committed a couple hours in the midst of the battle to 'get real' with each other and with our Lord."
Also scheduled to speak is two-time NCAA champion Chris Pendleton along with Hall of Famers/Olympians Nate Carr and John Peterson.
The event is free for all NWCA coaches and members, plus wrestlers competing in the NCAA Championships. Tickets to the breakfast are $10 apiece for the general public. Tickets for the event will be available at the NWCA booth in the Ford Center during the first round of wrestling on March 16.
