Izmir, Turkey - U.S. Greco-Roman wrestler Justin Millard (Colorado Springs, Colo./Edinboro Univ./U.S. Air Force) was not cleared medically by the U.S. Olympic Committee training staff on Monday evening, and thus has been forced to withdraw from competition at the 2005 World University Games. Millard, competing at 84 kg/185 lbs., suffered a tear in his right labrium (shoulder) and is unable to compete. "I hurt the shoulder a couple of weeks ago, but it was nothing serious. But the other day in workouts, I tweaked it again and that has put me out of this tournament," Millard said. "I am disappointed. I wanted to compete in this tournament." Millard placed third in the 2005 U.S. World Team Trials and seventh in the 2005 U.S. Nationals. He won the University Nationals and University World Team Trials this year to earn a spot on this team. Greco-Roman competition will begin on Tuesday, August 16 at the Ozel Yamanlar High School Sports Hall.
