Nick Simmons (Williamston, Mich./Michigan State Univ./Michigan WC), 5th place at 55 kg/121 lbs. On competing in the World University Games: "It's good experience, coming over. It should have ended up better, but that's the way things go." On his bronze-medal bout: "I don't know what I was thinking at all. I kind of shut down. I had every period won until the last 10 seconds. I just have to go back, figure out what I was doing wrong and wrestle the whole time." On what he learned from competing in this event: "You learn how the other countries wrestle and officiate international. Whatever I get from here is definitely going to help me in the long run." Jesse Jantzen (Brookline, Mass./Harvard Univ./New York AC), 1st place at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. On winning this event: "It's a big step for me in freestyle. The rules have changed this year. I had a disappointing Trials. But I've been working on some things and I think they have worked out. This was big for me. To get something like this, I think it going to help my confidence and push me through 2008." On dominating his opponents: "It was unexpected. I didn't know any of these guys, being kind of new to international. Sometimes I think that is good to your wrestling style. Fortunately, I just had those two periods each time, which definitely helps in this environment and with only 15 minutes between matches. It's hot and easy to wear down, so I was happy to be able to get in and out of my matches as quick as possible."
