Though wins and losses on the mat are often the defining factors for wrestlers, the true measure of success is how a wrestler carries the lessons of the sport through the rest of their life. The sport of wrestling, like no other endeavor, is filled with the dominant American values that people want to instill in the youth of this country. Because of the importance of values such as commitment, dedication and sacrifice that are constantly emphasized by coaches as they build more successful wrestlers, the sport of wrestling can proudly acknowledge those that went on to succeed beyond the mats. USA Wrestling's National Coaches Education Program has developed a set of four printable PDF posters that are valuable visual aids for coaches wanting to showcase the mettle of the leaders that have come from the sport. While well-known wrestlers such as Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert and President Abraham Lincoln are highlighted other more obscure wrestling success stories are included. America's most successful living inventor Dean Kaman is pictured as well as Cornell graduate and Presidential Economic Adviser Stephen Friedman. Famed actors like Robin Williams, Billy Baldwin, Tom Cruise, and Kirk Douglas are also pictured. Finally, American patriots such as Major Thomas Aubin, and Army Reserve Specialist Bryan Freeman are stories that the wrestling community must share as well. The four-poster set will help inspire the pride that we all must share in the great sport of wrestling, and is available for download in color and black/white versions.
