The National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum has announced the five Regional winners of the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Awards for 2005.    In alphabetical order, the Regional winners are:  Cesar Grajales of Brandon High School in Brandon, Fla. (Southeast)  Brent Metcalf of Davison High School in Davison, Mich. (Midwest)  Troy Nickerson of Chenango Forks High School in Chenango Forks, N.Y. (Northeast)  Jared Rosholt of Ponca City High School in Ponca, Okla. (Central)  Cyler Sanderson of Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah (West)    One of these five outstanding student-athletes will receive the national Dave Schultz High School Excellence Awards for 2005, which will be announced in May.    The Regional winners will be announced and recognized on Friday, April 29 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, as part of USA Wrestling's U.S. Nationals Championships weekend, which also includes the FILA Junior Nationals and the Western Junior Regionals.     The Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award is presented by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame annually to a high school senior. The award program is based equally on outstanding wrestling success, scholastic achievement and citizenship or community service.    On Monday, the Hall of Fame announced its state-wide winners, as a winner of the honor was awarded for each state. The five Regional winners were selected from this pool of outstanding individuals.    This awards program is named in the honor of the late Dave Schultz, an Olympic and World champion, who set an example for excellence, both on and off the mat. Dave's wife Nancy Schultz has played an important role in supporting this awards program.    A short biography of each Regional winners follows:    SOUTHEAST - Cesar Grajales, Brandon High School, Brandon, Fla.   Competed at 135 pounds. Grajales was a four-time Florida High School state champion, with a 247-1-4 prep record. He has a 4.0 grade point average (GPA). He has placed twice at the ASICS Junior Nationals, Grajales won the National High School Championships this year. He will attend the Univ. of Pennsylvania in the fall.     MIDWEST - Brent Metcalf, Davison High School, Davison, Mich.  Competed at 145 pounds. Metcalf was a four-time Michigan High School state champion, with an undefeated career record with 156 pins. He was a double champion at the 2004 ASICS Junior National Championships. Metcalf has a 3.7 GPA. Metcalf will attend Virginia Tech in the fall.    NORTHEAST - Troy Nickerson, Chenango Forks High School, Chenango Forks, N.Y.  Competed at 125 pounds. Nickerson was the first five-time state champion in New York history with a career record of 213-6. He was a double champion at the 2004 ASICS Junior National Championships, and was Outstanding Wrestler in both styles.  He was a National High School Champion this year. He won two Cadet National Greco-Roman titles, and was 2003 Cadet National freestyle champion.  Nickerson has a 3.7 GPA. He will attend Cornell Univ. in the fall.    CENTRAL - Jared Rosholt, Ponca City High School in Ponca, Okla.  Competed at 215 pounds. Rosholt was a four-time high school state champion, winning two titles in Oklahoma and two titles in Idaho, with a 186-4 record. He was second in the ASICS Junior Nationals in freestyle in 2004. Rosholt's older brother  Jake Rosholt is a two-time NCAA champion. Jared Rosholt will attend Oklahoma State in the fall.    SOUTHWEST - Cyler Sanderson, Wasatch High School, Heber City, Utah  Competed at 140 pounds. Sanderson was a three-time Utah state champion with a record of 163-8. He was a National High School champion this year. Sanderson was third at the 2004 ASICS Junior Nationals. His brother Cael was an Olympic champion, and his other two older brothers Cody and Cole were NCAA All-Americans. He will attend Iowa State in the fall.
