USA Wrestling Board member Ron Mirikitani to be inducted into Martial Arts Hall of Fame

Ron Mirikitani of Kirkwood, Mo., the head wrestling coach at St. Louis CC-Meramec, will soon be adding his sixth hall of fame to his already impressive list of credentials. The U.S. Martial Arts Association will induct him into its International Hall of Fame in July.    Mirikitani is a member of the USA Wrestling Board of Directors, representing the National Junior College Wrestling Coaches Association.    The USMA has named Mirikitani its Grappling Arts Instructor of the Year, and will honor him at ceremonies July 23 at the Holiday Inn in St. Peters, Mo.    "I really enjoy teaching and coaching and to be honored by people like this makes it extra special for me," said Mirikitani.    Professor Mirikitani, in his 35th year as Meramec's head wrestling coach, teaches Judo, Karate and Self Defense courses. As wrestling coach, he is the all-time NJCAA career dual meets win leader with 417 victories.
