USA Wrestling announces age-group Nationals for young athletes in a variety of age divisions

It will be a busy year for the best young wrestlers in the United States, as USA Wrestling hosts age-group national championships for both men and women.    The age-group schedule starts with the 2005 Kids/Cadet National Folkstyle Championships, which will be held at the UNI-Dome at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, April 1-3. The best 9-16 year-old wrestlers from across the nation are expected.    The Kids/Cadet Folkstyle Nationals is the final event of USA Wrestling's Ultimate Challenge Series of folkstyle wrestling. The Kids/Cadet Folkstyle Nationals is the first of three events in USA Wrestling's prestigious Triple Crown Wrestling Series.     The next major national competitions will be the 2005 Body Bar Women's Nationals which includes the women's University National Championships, the women's FILA Junior/Cadet National Championships along with the Girl's Freestyle Championships. These events will be held at Grossmont High School in El Cajon, Calif., April 8-10, 2005.    The women's University Nationals features the best 18-24 year old women athletes in the nation, including many of the best collegiate wrestlers. The women's FILA Junior Nationals is for women ages 18-20 and the FILA Cadet nationals will feature women ages 16-17. The girls freestyle championships will be for girls in grades 3rd through 8th.    Next on the national events schedule is the men's 2005 University Nationals which will be held alongside the 2005 FILA Cadet National Championships at Welsh-Ryan McGaw Hall in Evanston, Ill., April 13-16. The University Nationals will feature the nation's top 18-24 year old wrestlers, including many of the best collegiate wrestlers. The Cadet Nationals is for athletes from 15-17 years old.    The 2005 FILA Junior National Championships for men is scheduled for Las Vegas, Nev., April 27-30. The best 17-20-year-old wrestlers in the nation will compete for men's freestyle, and men's Greco-Roman titles.    The nation's young wrestling teams will square off in Indianapolis, Ind., for the Schoolboy/girl National Duals June 16-19.    The 2005 Cadet National Duals are set for Kansas City, Mo., June 23-37, featuring top teams of talented 15-16 year old wrestlers.    One of the most popular events on the USA Wrestling age-group calendar is the 2005 National Junior Duals, which will be held in Enid, Okla., June 28-July 3. Top high school state-level teams will square off in dual meet action in freestyle and Greco-Roman.    The top young wrestlers in the country will meet for the Kids Freestyle/Greco-Roman Nationals June 29-July 2, in Green Bay, Wis., in the final events of the Kid's Triple Crown.    A number of national events will descend upon Fargo, N.D., July 24-30, including, the Cadet Freestyle/Greco-Roman Nationals, the National Junior Freestyle/Greco-Roman National Championships, the National Junior Women's Championships and the National Junior Women's Dual Championships.    As the national governing body, USA Wrestling provides a complete series of national tournaments for young athletes of all ages.
